Coffee Table Makeover
My brother-in-law made our coffee table many years ago. He looked at a Broyhill Furniture ad that I loved and said, “Sure, I can make that!” And he did. I love it. {Thanks, Wes!}
After 8 years of wear and tear, the top was losing its finish, and the paint was looking a bit beat up, too. I took it outside and with the help of the good ol’ random orbital sander, sanded off the entire finish of the top. {It was so worn down, it didn’t take long!}
The wood is very light-colored alder, so I stained it with Dark Walnut (putting it on with an old t-shirt).
and painted the bottom part Cloud White from Benjamin Moore
I distressed the painted edges,
and added 4 coats of Varathane’s “Diamond Wood Finish – water base” in Satin finish to the top.
There it is in its new home.

In other news…
I’ve been painting
and framing
and clipping
and spraying
and gluing.…
I’m working {like a crazed woman} trying to get The Living Room Makeover finished! I think it’ll be ready for its big ol’ “reveal” tomorrow. {Insert Happy Dance here!}
(*P.S. I did get the living room finished! Yippee! You can see the reveal here.)
Linking up: Perfectly Imperfect
Looks great! Especially in it's "home".
love it!! 🙂
